Information for visitors
Dear users, this notice is to inform you that the Maritime Museum Piran, with all its units, will be closed to visitors from Friday, March 13th 2020 until cancellation. Only museum staff and authorized persons who are carrying out emergency maintenance work are allowed to enter the museum premises. This measure was adopted in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Culture to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic. During the Coronavirus outbreak, we offer you virtual tours of our dislocated collections. We have prepared some new material also for our younger visitors.

Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran and the Slovenian Museum Association kindly invite you to attend the lecture
"MUSEOLOGY: HISTORICAL CONCEPTUAL ISSUES - DOES THEORY CONCERN OUR DAILY WORK AT THE MUSEUM?" to be given by ddr. Verena Vidrih Perko, the recognized archaeologist and museologist, which will be held on Monday, March 2nd. 2020 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Info Center of the Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran in the former salt warehouse Monfort, Obala 8, Portorož.

On the occasion of the upcoming Slovenian Cultural Day, we kindly invite you to the presentation of Duška Žitko's book "El Tartini and Piassa" and to visit the renovated Museum Collection of Giuseppe Tartini in Tartini's birth house. We will meet at the Tartini Square on Wednesday, February 5th 2020 at 11am.

The maritime workshops on Saturday morning
From now on, you can spend Saturday mornings a bit differently. Once a month we will meet at the Maritime Museum and and learn about our maritime heritage. The workshops are mainly intended for children from 6 to 12 years and we will always start at 10.00.
